This simple, cost-effective solution traps a layer of air between the window and the film, which acts as an insulating buffer. This additional layer helps maintain indoor temperatures by preventing cold air from entering and warm air from escaping, lowering energy bills and improving comfort. Shrink film is especially useful for older windows or single-pane glass, where it can reduce condensation and noise.

Step 1 Clean the surface

with warm water with a small amount of detergent to remove dust,
dirt and grease that may stop the tape from sticking.

window

the distance from the start of the inside of the window you are
insulating to the nearest flat surface.
Measure side to side and then top to
bottom.
Example
980mm x 1120mm
(0.98m x
1.12m) or (98 cm x 112 cm)
Step 3 Apply the tape
When the window frame is dry

self-adhesive tape to the window frame
You measured earlier using your
measurements.
Example
980mm x 1120mm
Use your knife or scissors to trim
any excess you may have.
Step 4 Apply the film
When youre ready to apply the
insulation film remove the tape backing so the film will stick.

stick the film to the tape
TIP
apply one side first and pull the film to reduce creases and
stick to the opposite side and the top and bottom.

this kit comes with easy to follow instructions
This Window Insulation Kit is
a DIY solution that lets create an extra layer of insulation on
the windows. It consists of a clear plastic film and a
double-sided tape that can easily apply to any window frame.
The film shrinks when heated with a hairdryer, creating a tight seal that prevents cold air from entering and warm air from escaping. The film is transparent and does not reduce the amount of light or visibility through the window.
